Zeman Bastogne, leader of the Defiance after Cross's death.

Unusual for the population of the Defiance world, Zeman is one of the few "Nazi" Germans left, that is, his bloodline is directly from the genetically altered Aryans from Nazi Germany. In the Defiance world, his kind are looked down upon for what their forfeathers did. Zeman carries a lifetime of angst and aggression towards him for his unique colors that ties him directly to the Nazi bloodline.

He hates that he's part of it.

However, he uses that hate and turns it towards his military tact, and his proficiency at leading. After Cross's death in August of 2047 in the fight against Maxis during the downfall of the United States, Zeman assumes the leadership of the Defiance.

Currently leads the Pennsylvania island colony and the small fleet they have for self defense.
