Harrison (2014) by LordDominic

Harrison (2014)

LordDominic

2014 art. A jackal character who was unnamed at the time, but came to be known as Harrison. The original description also includes some commentary on this race's design.

Original description from the submission page:

There's just something about this sort of outfit (shorts, shirt tucked in, socks) that I find cute on anthro characters. Helps if they are slightly pear-shaped.
I really like this pose, too. It's cute, innocent, maybe a tad mischievous, AND it means I don't have to draw hands or paws!

It's been a while since I have drawn this "jackal" character model. Their design has remained virtually unchanged since 2004, and it reflects the fascination I had with odd stripe patterns at the time. Otherwise somewhat generic character designs can benefit quite a bit from a modest, natural yet noticeable spot or stripe pattern I feel. Originally their hair-mane didn't extend to the top of their heads, making them look like they were balding. That changed sometime in 2009/2010.
