Took way too long tinkering with this desk, its shaders, and later the camera and lighting I wanted. Like the nightstand, I am not fond of the legs. I had originally gone for a lucite-like appearance but it just wasn't working out and was very slow to render too.
I also tweaked Rederick's shader in this pic to make his dark marks less of a impenetrable void. I also tacked on a layer of ambient occlusion. I really think it helps him pop and brings back some of the details lost in this particular, final gathering heavy, lighting approach.
Featuring a reappearance of the executive chair, in the environment it was originally intended for!

This looks really nice, the first thing I noticed is that chair looks super comfortable. Also the lighting looks both real and dramatic (the perfect combination in my opinion). All the trial and error which I'm sure it took to produce this paid off I'd say! And the legs look darn good if you ask me.
