"If you had just gone with me to find those rings, you wouldn’t have cared about the massive dragon claw that destroyed your apartment. You also wouldn’t have gone into those ridiculous woods, and saved yourself a great deal of aggravation.

When you found the cave, and heard the creatures making noise, you probably didn’t expect those dragons to imprint on you. Well they did. And they certainly weren’t going to have a weak little human for a father, oh no, they wanted one of their own. So instead of ruling the skies with an iron fist and eating livestock, you get to be dragon-dad.

When they hatched, and picked you, the whelps must have wondered where their birth parents went off, but they seemed to think you’d do just fine. I guess babies really are magical after all. The scales came first, they always do. Then the claws, and the sharp teeth, followed by the tail, that usually shows up early.

By the time you’d worked it out, you were much larger, and the wings had started to grow in. This is when you saw a little more of your nose than you were expecting, and the markings on your new scales were apparent. Then came the horns and the elongation of your proportions, followed by the shift to quadrupedal form. It couldn’t have taken too long to become the more powerful creature you are now.

After you had shifted, I bet you wanted to fly away and rule the skies, but instead you got to babysit. Hopefully those parents come back soon, otherwise you’re going to have to figure out parenting by yourself. In the meantime, I’ll be terrorizing peasants."
