Skaal is noticeable different than most stalkers. Along with a different coloration, he also developed a longer, slimmer, body, as well as a shorter muzzle and strange clawlike flippers. He prefers deep waters, but occasionally ventures to shallow water in search of prey. Usually at night, because his darker coloration proves to be a hindrance against the clear water and bright sands.

Due to exposure to radioactive conditions when he was younger, he developed the ability to generate lightning from the sails along his back, allowing him to jolt the water and stun his prey. This is useful because his shorter muzzle is a problem with catching faster swimming fish and creatures.
