Initial sketches for one of the characters in my upcoming comic, I finally got time to sit down and start sketching!! :D (Big Grin)

Ignore his feet and hands please, please, please!!! I just wanted to show basic ideas, so this is VERY sketchy. XD

Azul (ah - zool) will be the father of the protagonist in the story. I've not settled on a colour palette for him yet, and I don't think I will until I have other character concepts sketched up.
He's not going to be a key character as such, but he will feature fairly frequently, at least in the beginning.

I don't want to give away too much of the story until I have more characters at least partially designed, but I will say that there will be post appocalyptic and ancient Mesoamerican influences as well as monsters, beasts and creepy themes. I'm working on building the world at the moment, and having great fun coming up with ideas and concepts! :) (Smile)

The cuffs are worn by everyone in the city/tribe that the protagonist is born into.
Men have red tattoos, women have blue tattoos, and people who do not wish to be defined by their gender are tattooed with green ink. Tattoos are mandatory for everyone though.
Warriors have black tattoos as well as their others and religious characters have purple.
