Relatively happy with how this came out. The legs gave me some aggravation but I eventually gave up - I notice now that the left (his right) leg/thigh is a bit too thin, and the perspective/angle/posing is still a little off. Bah.

But overall, it's done. Here he is now, sans-shoulder and back spikes, more or less.

Some more information on Xeon:
Yes, he does have a small cluster of spikes on his shoulder - not overly crazy in appearance, but they can be there if they're not retracted. Additionally he has elbow spikes that are retractable (normally just used offensively) as well as back spikes - two by the shoulder, one in the center and two lower ones just above and to the side of the base of his tail.

The 'hair' is closer to the look and feel of Sonic's quills.

His eye contains no visible pupil - it's a solid color, and only if the light were to reflect at just the right angle would one be able to see the hint of his pupil, but otherwise it's not visible - and there's no difference in color from the iris to the pupil.

Unless completely changing his form, typically Xeon only sports a set of gills (3 slits on each side of his neck) when he's in an aquatic formation. Otherwise, unless he absolutely -has- to, he refuses to bother with altering himself for other climates, being able to accommodate most environments rather well for short periods of time.
