Slay thy enemy

Zecon19

It was a beautiful night. Darkness had taken over the world and the sky illuminated with the crash of lightning. The Castle I had found was full of the old magic. Much of it was forgotten in current times. I walk slowly my mind attuned to the spirits whispering their sad tails into my long ears. Then a fissure struck the air and my fur stands on end as I feel the power emanating to one side of me. Something was awakening. I turn and face an ancient golem. Nothing too fanciful, nor well crafted. It was decreped and well past it's prime. The thing clunkingly attacked and I easily dogged it and kept walking. For minutes on end, it kept sprinting at me, attacking me with wobbly determination.
Finally, I felt myself losing patience and flexed my right paw. The uncomfortable sensation of the alien parasite moving as its eye opens up in the middle of my palm. Power surges through me and my markings glow brighter as flames licked my scales and fur. Then in a swift movement, I attack. A single strike, a quick movement, and the thing is no more. As I stand I feel excess blood flowing down my lips as the last tingles of fire dies down from around me. The blade in my hand pulses with power as the parasite laughs in my hand. The pain of retracting the weapon into myself again was going to be agony. But it is an old pain. One I must bare since I am doomed to wield the Gatekeepers weapons for eternity.

( This was just a practice to see if I can push myself thorugh my art. I still have a ways to go. The pillars could look cleaner, I admit I rushed much of this. but next time I plan to work harder and slower. )

Character and art by me.
