Balance Wheel by Yoik

Balance Wheel

Yoik

This is a balance wheel I made recently. The I didnt want the star to be portrayed as either a "Satanic" symbol, nor a Wiccan one, I tried my best to keep it at an angle so it's not representing either.

We live in the fifth world, ruled by Tonatiuh. His symbol is the Ollin, which means movement. The two stones act as a weight, one light and one dark. It keeps us grounded in this world. Where we see a pentagon, when in motion, it becomes a more chaotic shape. The tension in the cord not only creates the star symbol, it also gives the frame depth. This reminds us that there are many aspects to what may seem mundane may just be a front for something much more complex. Nothing is ordinary.

The bone and feather also reflect the balance in natural life that all must face. The food chain means little when the end result for all life is equally death. The bone is from a small deer, the feather is from a crow.

The frame is made of rose thorns, a flower revered as a symbol for love and passion, who has more than it's share of pain inducing barbs. Love can be beautiful but comes with plenty of pain. The best has an equal balance.

Available for purchase.
