New Reference for Xetem Ilekex May 2021 - Clean

Xetem

So the other day I was on FA browsing, and I came across either a ref sheet or an adoptable (I can't remember which exactly) using this base by LockworkOrange over on FA. So I went over and took a look at what was in the base and its add-on and I thought, "maybe I could update Xetem's ref, it seems to have enough parts for me to work with." And that gets us to here: the new and improved refsheet for Xetem Ilekex.

Some note's on Xetem's new design:

  • I'm not very good at coloring, especially digitally, which is why the colors are flat and why Xetem's color design is so simple.

  • His overall design is still fairly fluid, I'm still trying to nail it down, and I probably will if I ever get some money to put into getting a commission.

  • He now has hair and ears that aren't fins! It was something I was experimenting with in Hero Forge (as an aside I have a mini of him mocked up if anyone's dying to see him in mini form like Cyran). Having hair was something that I wanted from the start, but Fursona Maker's hairs don't mesh well with the horns.

  • Ideally his wings would be bigger, but this is what was in the set, and just scaling them up doesn't work. I don't mind the smaller wings, but canon Xetem has some pretty large wings.

  • If I was better at coloring, he'd have the darker red on his belly from his crotch up to his neck, but I'd rather stick to him looking good that having a really bad edit.

  • Also, he does still have a row of smaller horns down the middle of his head, they're just covered by his hair now.

Overall I really like how he came out, and Lock's faces in the base just look so cute, I love the smirk.

UPDATE:
I've updated Xetem's look again, this time adding back the darker neck, belly, and under tail scale colors from the original Fursona maker version. It was something that I had wanted to do from the start that at the time I did not feel confident in doing, especially without a drawing surface. I also added a cock piercing, as it's something I'm into, and a feature present on my SecondLife avatar. I hope you all enjoy as much as I do.
