Of the three original admirals, Kuzan is the only one I didn’t make an eagle (where Akainu is a wedge-tailed eagle, Kizaru is a golden eagle, and Sengoku is a black eagle— heck, even Smoker is a white-bellied sea eagle). I guess setting him off from the others in a minor way differentiates him from the other marines without completely alienating him. Something like that.
