"It was wet. The cold rain seeped into everything, and it's hollow patter on the armor of the jousters and their mounts gave the event a rather dismal spirit. The coldness of the shower did not mix easily with the heat of the previous day, and together they created a humid, windy sort of weather that made the rain all the more chilling to the touch. It seemed to be the perfect weather for catching colds. It did not, however, appeal as jousting cover.
Once again, Julius and Fallout were bracketed to one of the last runs of the round, which meant all the horses who ran before them had made the track a veritable bog. They were paired against a great gray stallion, which, Julius had heard, was so far undefeated in tournament. It was sure to be an interesting match."
