This is Rum. He was the dragon in a story I started for NaNoWriMo a few years ago. It had a girl, Maya, follow (and I use it loosely because she fell) her friend Alec into a portal that opened between worlds. She as pulled out of a frozen lake by a big white and blue dragon. The dragon's name is Rum and his rider is a girl named Eirwen.

Dragons in this story all have three letter names. They take their first letter from their father's name and the last from their mother. The middle letter is 'theirs' so to speak.

They're aren't many dragons left and even fewer riders. Those that are left tend to stick to the mountains in small, primitive tribes - shunning the rest of the world.

Once a rider is matched by the dragon (at a certain age, a dragon will get to pick his child from a group presented to him,) the child is tattooed with the dragon's face marking. Each dragon is different, and thus you can identify a dragon rider off their dragon by the marking on their face.

So Rum's rider, Eirwen, share's the blue arrow under each eye and across the nose.

The mark in the upper left hand corner would be how Eirwen would sign something if she ever had to. It's pretty much the first letter of her name and Rum's mark - making it "Eirwen of Rum."
