this is probably horrible and ridiculous but here it is. here is a thing.

um i guess. i can explain that traditionally in the kindom terid’s from (it doesn’t have a name because i’m really bad at thinking of names it will eventually But), members of the royal family stop cutting their hair after becoming king/queen/ruler, so they have like elaborate hair pieces and only nobility are allowed to wear their hair past a certain length in public or it’s considered disrespectful (most people keep their hair cropped pretty close). they let their hair grow until their death so they kind of grow into these larger and more intricate hair pieces (they flatten out after a certain point because of weight and gravity lmfao) and some of them are passed down through generations and shit and yeah. terid still has a few but he doesn’t wear them because they’re really cumbersome and make doing anything but sitting still in a chair pretty difficult to do. the formal dress from his kingdom is generally pretty um… big. like, flashy, and large and in the way. it’s made to be light weight so it can be worn at like long formal occasions and stuff in public, but it’s still hard to move around in without worrying you’re going to like catch your shoulder in a doorway and knock your whole outfit off.

since terid was going to be crowned around the time his homeland was destroyed, he keeps his hair long. it doesn’t actually grow naturally because he doesn’t physically change, as an immortal demigod, so even though he hasn’t cut his hair in 300 years it’s not like 10 meters long, lol. (his hair grows subconsciously as a reflection of how he views himself so if he thinks his hair should be getting longer, it will slowly grow a bit longer)

so yeah, that’s the thing.
