Moderate Painterly commission for Mahiri!

*A faint glow cascades out from the crack in the door frame. "Eghh," you say to yourself, wrinkling your nose. Who left and forgot to turn out their lamp? The school day ended ages ago; you snuff, annoyed, as you mosey over with a mop clutched firmly in one hand and bucket in the other. A teaching job wouldn't necessarily be your first choice of work, but it sure would beat janitorial when it came to hours.

You read the nameplate on the door quickly - Kijana. One of the teaching assistants you assume, or no - must be a professor, given the size of the office itself. You press on the wood and the door cracks open, and you freeze in your tracks as your hair pricks on the back of your neck. "Hello." Her voice is smooth, accompanied by a gentle smile, but you instantly sense the rows of teeth beneath those lips. The hyena stares at you intently with warm brown eyes, a little too big for her suit and certainly too big for her chair.

"Uh, s-sorry ma'am," you manage to stutter after a long moment. It's not your normal way of speaking, but her presence seems to command a sense of respect just from size alone. "Didn't mean to bother you. I thought everyone had gone home for the evening and I wanted to turn out the lamp." Kijana just smiles, places a leg up on the desk, and after a long pause motions for you to come closer.*

Kinda been in the mood to write little blurbs with my commissions lately. What do you guys think? First of three commissions for Mahiri! Definitely had fun with lighting in this one. :D
