I decided to actually try to be creative for once. Those of you who kindly read Hooves of Clay (see elsewhere in my gallery) might (possibly) recognise Caart Horssten here, whom we left in a long-distance relationship. Thanks to the modern miracle of smartphones, you can send far, far more than a simple 'Missing you' these days. As a perennial show-off I figured this would be the kind of selfie the smug stallion would send (music included) to let Zane know what he's missing whilst they're apart. Caart's very aware of what his best attributes are- let's just all be thankful he didn't squeeze into his old basketball uniform to take the photo.

Art-wise, this was definitely an experiment, and I learned from it, which is the point of experiments. Mostly I learned that I'm very, very bad at drawing or colouring digitally in anything other than a painfully 'toony' style. I'm more pleased with it now its coloured than I was with the original sketch, it's still not how I actually picture Caart, exactly. But you have to do this kind of practice to actually try and improve. I was going to do lots of twiddly bits on the smartphone, but they wouldn't really add anything further to this particular attempt.

Anyway, I figured I'd share my random inspirations. I hope viewing them provides some pleasure.
