Back in the last century, my photography professor had a trick where he would take photos of the moon in various phases on 4x5 film. He'd label them and put the undeveloped film in the freezer. When he wanted to add something to a night shot he'd pull the plate that had the moon of the right phase and double expose.
Yeah, the stuff we went through.

cool :-) yeah this is the best shot I've gotten, real crisp as the atmosphere was amazingly stable. I do believe it was timed just right in the sky at just the right time of phase, and right in a narrow window for an exceptional neutral event. :-)
