I finished Embassytown by China Miéville today and now I am full of feels. You can't imagine how many feels I have for this book.

Yeah, so this is my first attempt to draw an Ariekes/a Host. It's kind of hard to realize them because there weren't a lot of descriptions of them (well, except fanwing patterns and eye corals), and I think my biggest problem is the giftwing (that's basically their hand, for those who still need to read it... and you really should).

I don't like the... neck. After drawing this I realized that there were no mentions of necks, they change their view by moving their eye corals. So... next try without a neck.

What I like about this one is the fanwing, though. I imagine the fanwings most of the time big and crumpled, like the wing of a newborn butterfly, but with more structure even when stretched, because it is still a hearing organ.
