An old contest entry.

I choose to draw http://atroci.deviantart.com/ character Raja, a spirit embodying all of the animals and plants that died in a great forest fire. He walk among the ashes, purifying water and bringing animals and plants back to life.

But what happens after he finishes restoring all of the forest? Wouldn't he finally be able to rest and become the forest that he once was again? I basically decided to portray that moment and have his spirit fade into the forest in a stream of light. His anatomy is made of a bear, wolf, elk, boar, and bird, and hence all the animal shapes in the light. ( you can't see the bird very well since it's at the very top leading the stream of light)

It took me forever to draw! I had problems with the pose of Raja, then I couldn't decide on the background and when I finally did do the background I had to change it half way through because the environment looked too oriental and mountainous (he used to be standing on a cliff). Then after changing it the lighting kept on not working and everything looked messy and djflads;lfkjsal;dfjljdflsd;jfd so I kept on sleeping late trying to fix everything.

And now I'm finally done! I guess I'm pretty happy with the result in that I like the lighting and the environment and the idea, though I with that I could make everything on top neater looking...of well :D
