After attending the New York State Falconry Association meet last week, I had the awesome experience of meeting several Harris' Hawks and realized how COOL they are. Seriously, Harris' Hawks are awesome. They have gorgeous plumage and an interesting personality (including screaming angrily at any creature they deem suspicious). After returning, I was inspired to create a pendant based on these beautiful birds.

This pendant is a little bit smaller than my other wing pendants, mostly because I find that the bigger, bulkier pendants don't sit as well on the neck. The wings at the widest point are about 3.5 inches, and the dangling tail feather is 2.25 inches. It's hand-carved and shaped from 7-oz. leather (bottom layer) and 4-oz leather (top layer and dangling feather). The chain is a 'gunmetal' chain, though I may also make sterling chain pendants if there's interest!
