Kat can access other devices to download files to her storage. But she doesn't exactly run a standard operating system, so she has to emulate the appropriate stuff to access those files. She also tends to run things in very small sandboxes, having them separated into small groups  of files which are unable to access anything outside of that particular sandbox. This is done as a form of security, that way if something malicious somehow makes its way in, the damage it can cause would be minimal and contained to that sandbox. She keeps them deactivated except when she needs them. This does mean, however, that anything she downloads from an external source can't be automatically located in the same way her memories and acquired knowledges are. 

The drawback to this system comes from the fact that Kat does not do a very good job of organizing them when she downloads them. She rarely remembers to rename, tag, or sort the files. And since the sandboxes can't interact with each other, she has to remember to activate the correct sandbox when downloading the file, or she can't correct it later unless she transfers it back to an external source, switches sandboxes, then transfers it back. 

Kat is a genderfluid lion/tiger/dragon hybrid that recently got into an accident that left them stuck in the form of a mass of nanites, with controlled by 7 processors in the shape of orbs, each orb holding part of their mind. While the nanite form looks humanoid, it breaks down anything it touches, so in that form Kat can't do much. As such, they've worked on creating temporary physical bodies they can control. These allow them to interact with stuff, but they're temporary as the nanites eventually break them down to the point of being unusable.
