This piece was part of my early explorations into the new world of working on canvas. This was painting number three in a series of various swallowtail butterfly paintings I was inspired to paint as my fibromyalgia and health complications forced me home from being able to work. As a way to cope with these difficult times, I began painting on canvas, and though I have only completed a few due to my joints, I am happy with each and every one of them. This has roughly 45 hours of work put into it over the course of two months when I was able to work on it. These paintings have helped me get though my hard times and see that there can be brightness in even darkness. I hope that this work can bring you just as much joy and peace as I have found creating it. This is a signed, one of a kind work by me, Allison Wier.
The butterfly's wings and been touched with interference violet and blue so that they shimmer in the sunlight in such a beautiful way as cannot be seen through photography. If you like the picture, you would LOVE it in person. This is available through my Etsy shop and is a one of a kind original.
