The Caerkeeth, or Wind People, are the second engineered species produced by the Mahkeeth in preparation for their movement from their home to space. Meant to handle small tasks as well as rescue others from situations where they are trapped floating at zero-g in some open space, they were colored to resemble plants. Because of their small size, they tend to appear along with Mahkeeth as companions to them or in flights of their own kind.

Caerkeeth then to have a graceful if moth-like flutter. Unlike their larger cousins, they have gold instead of silver reflective patches on their bodies and their antennae and twin tail patches glow green in dim light. Caerkeeth are playful and curious, and much to the annoyance of their elders, they tend to get along best with young Mahkeeth. Some say it is their light heart more than their wings that keeps them in the air.
