Winona is an earth mare who was left to die in the desert as a newborn after her parents succumbed to the elements while on the trail. A herd of bison stumbled upon the ill-fated, trio and upon seeing Winona weak and parched but still living, took her in and raised her in their society. Many years later she is a thriving member of the bison community and has taken a curiosity in her own peculiar species, ponies.
