Salamander Human Reference by Void-Lizard

Salamander Human Reference

Void-Lizard

COPIED FROM ART FIGHT:

The human form of one of my oldest (~2002) characters, Salamander. Normally he's a red fiery dragon, but I've not really drawn his human form, or any humans for that matter, in ages. Maybe a handful of times since high school??

So yeah, here's my boy. Drawn as a human, he's a fire dragon shapeshifter in a magic-scifi universe and shares this ability with a smallish but not exactly rare percent of the population. Technically his name is Pietro Gevaudan, but he doesn't respond to it, mostly out of spite. It's either Salamander or Sala. To further distance himself from his upbringing, he doesn't admit he's from the Paris area, just "northern France" and has modified his Parisian accent to a more generic French one. His accent is still very thick and he sprinkles French into his sentences now and then. Salamander also tries to downplay how much he knows about things, unless it's something he's passionate about, like magic, machinery, or elemental history. In the worldbuilding project I'm playing with, he lives in the Celestial Archipelago and works as a high-rank pyromancer, guard, and hobby mechanic and ghost hunter. Sala co-runs a vlog with his friend Albedo about going into the wilderness and finding weird shit. Despite being chaotic in most aspects, he's considered the professional one when filming and editing. Otherwise, he's eccentric, wild, and sometimes unruly.

I've thought about giving him burn scars, and may still say they're under the clothing. I started building more on him and his design about a decade ago when I used him as my Steam profile name/avatar. I played L4D/2, TF2, and KF1 as him, and that sort of began swinging him towards armor/melee in my mind. I made his twin/clone/other, Skullamander, in 2014 and have since retired Sala as my Steam profile. He's still one of my most drawn characters, although it's like 99.9% dragon/furry art. For Art Fight, I'm drawing him as human to get more of that side shown.

Finally got this done after like a day's work and a little bit more for planning. Uuuuuhhhh humans are tough for me, i don't know what I'm doing. I signed up for Art Fight in March and have been eagerly awaiting my first year of it!
