As easy-going as he is, Carson does not get along with everyone.
Enter Chalcedony the sphynx cat, a highly competitive psychic with a different focus that Carson. Whereas Carson is primarily clairvoyant with emphasis on other Clair Senses and often works as psychic medium or channel, Chalcedony uses her gifts to read palms, tarot cards and any other physical representation of the spirit realm. She is a drug dealer on the side and has been known to supply Carson's habits (it's marijuana, but grown very delicately in ways that only Chalcedony does. Her secret is in the energy and in the soil.)

Carson is easily annoyed with Chal's attitude. He insists that they are not in competition with each other, but she is always trying to convince him otherwise. She does this intentionally; Carson is not good under pressure, and she THRIVES under pressure. It's all a funny little game to her - by creating competition, she is inevitably winning. Winning is Chal's favorite thing to do.
