A portrait of my friend Suzelle's cat Bubble Bear, who just won Best in Show!

Suzelle's pretty new to cat showing still, and Bubble Bear is only 9 months old (but he's enormous) and this was his first show, so she definitely did not expect his win. Also, she's got a lot of the same anxiety and self-worth issues I have, so I really empathize with how overwhelming and gratifying this was for her. I painted this little piece as a tribute to the moment.

This is 10x14 inches, in acrylics on a stretched canvas. It took me about three days to do - quite enjoyable, actually, since the weather's been beautiful so I sat out on the porch painting under a perfect blue sky in the wintery 70F/20C weather. Plus I love painting fur, and Bubble Bear is basically nothing but a big ball of fur with eyes and a personality.
