Lightsaber Design

I wanted to make sure I could upload this anywhere else, so that's why it took a bit long.

Finished very late on 15th of December, uploaded it to the LootCrate Lightsaber contest on the 16th of December. (-> Day of the premier where I am, so sweet!)

It's a very personal design and I spent so long trying to figure out the perfect design I would be satisfied with. Much like actual jedi/apprentices I suppose from what I happened to have read during reasearch while designing. I wanted to know the works and positioning of the crystal, how a lightsaber is made, etc.
You have like four different types of lightsabers: The 'standard' shape, the shoto (short type, e.g. Yoda's lightsaber), dual-phase (can be made extra long), curved hilt (e.g. Count Dooku).
Also each colour crystal stands for a certain type of jedi, they use natural crystals.
The dark side use synthetic crystals, standard is red, but judging from the information found, since the crystals are made, you can have them in every colour.

This lightsaber in particular should be easy to wield thanks to the grip and protective 'blade': With one or two hands it can be wielded. It has some sort of green 'glass' running through on both sides through which you can see the crystal of the lightsaber and the rest of its insides, and lights up when the lightsaber is activated.
A small personal accessory at the bottom of the hilt, not as such for emotional reasons rather than to remind oneself what is important.
