So on the 4th, I guess I became a plant dad!

I am annoyed at rising food prices in my country, and I loathe the notion of boring, non-diverse, plain grass lawns, so I decided to knock two birds out with one stone and start building a garden. One that is more of a permaculture design that flows naturally with my yard and spans over an area of my yard that is mostly dirt and weeds.

I had no idea how things would go with this and fretted and worried over potential mistakes... But at the end of last week, the first sprout started to show itself in the basil, and then a couple days later, one of my sunflower seeds popped out to say hello, and that's what is shown here~ This is more to document the levels of excitement and happiness I feel seeing happy little sprouts shooting up to say hello to the world.

I am still worried about mistakes going forward, but more than anything, this is a learning experience for me. If it succeeds, I'll hopefully have a ton of food this fall! If it fails, I'll notate what I did wrong and try again.
