The boy stared back absently at the stuffed cat that had been pawing incessantly at his chest, demanding attention to its tiny voice. "We can make them pay for making you cry!" It insisted brightly, the red stuffing oozing further out of the loosened seams under it's rounded chin. "We can make THEM cry. Make them SORRY."

The boy said nothing, and just blinked slowly at the two large, oversized crimson buttons that were the toy's eyes. They seemed to wiggle in their threads with enough force to loosen their careful stitching.

Hopping eagerly in his arms, the cat was screaming now, despite its mouth having been sewn shut. "TWIST THEM UP. BREAK THEM INTO PIECES. DON'T YOU WANT TO WIPE THEIR FACES OFF OF YOUR HEELS? HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!-"

A gentle sigh left the boy's lips as his companion broke into hoarse laughter. How many times had he ripped this thing apart and sewn him back together in hopes of getting rid of this annoying persona it kept? Too many, and obviously not enough.

Maybe if he just let it get this one thing out of its system...
