Hundreds of years ago, when Galileo first began to point his home-made telescope towards the night skies, he noticed that much like The Moon, the planet Venus also has "phases." Quite prominent ones too. If you have even a relatively small and inexpensive telescope, you know where to look, and you live in an area without too much light pollution, you just might even be able to see said crescent-like phases on our neighboring toxic, hellish world.
