figured i'd try my hand at this whole pokemon "gijinka" thing, so i picked one of my favorite pokemons ever, gyarados

anyway i think i'll get to Ulysses's backstory, like most gyarados he started off as a measly magikarp who was bullied a lot, so for a long time him trained himself like crazy to keep him mind off the pain and humiliation of being a dorky teenaged magikarp. Eventually he evolved into gyarados and very quickly became the bully himself delivering the same punishment inflicted on him ten fold basically turning into a real jerk and became a pirate for a short time before he realizing how much of a bully he's become

So Ulysses decided to clean up his act and join the coast guard, a much nicer guy to be around now but can be full of himself from time to time which brings up the magikarp tattoo, that helps keep his ego in-check as a stark reminder of his humble roots that says to him "don't think you can treat anyone lesser then you like crap, remember... you were once a dumb weak fish who only knew splash"

to this day he's still very uncomfortable talking about his time as a pirate...
