Moar Deren!
I've been wanting to put his design (and the process that I used to create him) in my professional portfolio, so that's why you've been seeing quite a bit of him.

For those just tuning in. Deren is a gladiator in a science fiction setting. For ten years, he was a slave forced to compete in the brutal (and often fatal) underground arenas run by the criminals of the Alderia sector. He has since been freed thanks to Aredon and co., but the pits were still a major part of his life.

Here he is going up against an Aurynn warrior. I'm not sure who the victor will be... Deren was a very popular gladiator, but he wasn't undefeated. The scaley here has a decent shot at winning. All I can say is that Deren did not die in the arena.

He is a veteran gladiator at this point, so he wears very little armor as he believes that armor just slows him down.
Also, even though this takes place in a science fiction setting, the Alderia gladiators don't use firearms, since the crowd finds it more fun to watch slaves hack each other apart with swords and axes. Even if Deren does get wounded, medical technology in this universe is pretty advanced so his "owners" will fully heal him before the next battle. Even if he's lost some fingers or a limb.
