Commission for a couple of very dear friends. I went into this commission with the very loose concepts of "Egypt" and "space," and this is what turned out.

Used several online tutorials to create the planet and nebula effects, but I don't seem to have those links anymore. I promise they were in the top twenty when googling for such tutorials for photoshop.

Anubis is the Egyptian god of death - but, as Carl Sagan once pointed out, all that lives within us was once part of a dying star. Death and life move in an interconnected, endless cycle.

For a finishing touch, I recreated the Eye Of God nebula and used it for the eye of Anubis.
