Learning Lucidity Pt.1

He groggily blinked his eyes as consciousness trickled into him. Laying still, he focused on remembering the events that took place last night within his dreaming mind. While laying there in the tangled mess of his thin sheets, he began to recall fragments of last nights dream. Tukamos rolled over and checked the time; 11:34, he thought, taking a mental snapshot of the digital clock beside his bed.
After performing a reality check by counting the number of digits on his paw, he opened his journal and begun the process of transcribing his dream onto paper.

2:34 to 11:34, The Underground Shop, remember being in front of a small but heavy metal door. Frame had been rivetted and it could be opened by rotating the wheel in the center of the door. Passed the threshold of the entryway and walked down the dark gray stairs. Was amazed to see a store. The walls were the same rock as the stairway but they were illuminated by pure white light that emanated from the pristine glass displays. Other than the display lights, there were no other sources of light. Looked at the displays hoping to see something intresting but there was nothing. A figure appeared behind the counter when I looked back up. He had the same build and looked coyote like me but slightly older. Don't remember exactly what he said, but he explained that he was the store owner and that he would be able to help me find anything I wanted. Explains why there are no items in the cases. Don't remember anything else.

He pondered the outcome of the dream, the store itself had some psychological importance, but the shopkeeper had really caught his attention. Considering the nature of dreams, the coyote's face was impossible to recall, yet he seemed so important. Tukamos skimmed the journal entry again hoping more of the dream would come to him, but it was useless. Ignoring the spelling mistakes, he closed the notebook and set it back on the shelf.
The day dragged on, though the image of the dream character stayed in his mind. Considering what I've read about dreams, I know he's a part of my subconscious, yet I feel there is more to him than just being a generic dream character, he thought. Maybe I'll see him again tonight if I focus.
He opened up his laptop and read through some of the posts from the lucid dreaming community, although nothing really stood out apart from the usual beginners asking for help. He wasted a little more time listening to music before finally telling himself to get ready for bed. He pulled the sheets up to his chest before rolling over to look at the clock one last time before closing his eyes. 2:05 he reapeated to himself. He used his paw to smooth out a spot of fur on his leg that was bothering him before flopping on to his stomach; his mind already making the shift from consciousness to unconsciousness as he traveled to a place only he could go, his dreams.

Tukamos

Decided to try my hand at writing. This is just the first part, I have no idea how many parts there will be...
Just wanted to write a furry story about my character learning how to have lucid dreams and what happens inside of them.
Please feel free to critique!
Hmmm. Can't seem to figure out how to format text...
