New Family Member

Tru

So I wanted everyone to meet our new family member. She doesn't have name yet sadly (tossing around a couple and I thought I'd ask here). She's a short haired Syrian aka "Fancy" Hamster. We just got her last night. I haven't been able to socialize much with her as she is still very nervous and jumpy(I do mean this in the most literal sense. She can jump nearly to the top of her cage, silly thing).

I've had dwarf hammies when I was in high school and one teddy bear quite on accident, so this is a new stepping stone for me. My reasoning for welcoming this little gal to our home was that my fiance works/ goes to school M-F and as I don't have a job or a vehicle of my own, I am left home by myself. I really don't have any friends nearby(Not trying to make this a sob story...I'm just a very introverted person and most of the friends I do have live out of state) and while I love my mom, I'm not keen on spending all my time with her. There's reason I moved out...

I felt like I needed some sort of companion so I didn't feel so lonesome. We can't afford a dog or a cat right now(mostly due to our landlords outrageous pet deposit which thankfully doesn't count with small pets), and my fiance's newt while cute, just doesn't do much and you can't do much with him. So I finally convinced him into letting me getting a new hammie so here we are :3

As I've never really had a Syrian before, as most of my dwarves I either raised by hand or they were very anti-social(code for wanted to kill me), any tips from fellow hamster owners would be most welcome :D

If you have any name ideas I'd be happy to hear them!

P.S. Sorry for the bad picture, she's not one to stay still and as I said, I can't really pick her up yet.
