Since the very first Monster Manual of Dungeons and Dragons in 1977, Mimics have been making every stalwart hero suddenly wary of treasure chests, and eating the unlucky.

To every adventurer out there, remember; a treasure chest is always a time for celebration, (even if it's a mimic, you'll get experience), but be wary, it is just as likely to be full of teeth as it is gold and precious gems.
