Here is the horse that Dreamworks used as a model for Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron. He is a Kiger Mustang and now lives on a Mustang sanctuary near Lompoc, CA - only 20 miles from here. I took this picture around 2006 when I visited the sanctuary. Read more about him here:
