Geta: A form of traditional Japanese footwear that resemble both clogs and flip-flops.

I made these from red oak, the teeth are attached with both a dado joint and glued in dowels. I broke the first set just to see how strong they could be. I had to put one tooth in my vice and stomp on it pretty hard before it finally broke, pulling wood fibers and chunks from the bottom of the dai (the part your foot presses against).

They were a second attempt and I feel confident that if someone wanted a pair I could make them a set that they'd find surprisingly comfortable. They're not much different from walking on a hardwood floor.
