My first attempt as drawing a species I've been brainstorming for the last few weeks. I know I'm not much of an artist but this has been really fun to put together!

They're called Fairy Tails and while adults like Everett (pictured) have full wings they all begin in a sort of pupa state. Their wings develop in a cocoon that starts just above the base of their spine and envelops the tail until emerging.

Each fairy tail is born with an elemental alignment be it elements of nature (fire, water, minerals, plants) or emotion (love, empathy, anger). They slowly gain power over these skills given enough practice and magic use is not unfamiliar to them. They're typically not an aggressive species but there are exceptions of course.

Their designs can be any type of plant, animal, insect. The only requirements for their design are antennae and wings mounted just above the tail. It's a completely open species so please feel free to doodle one up if you'd like. All I ask if you show me what you've come up with! :3
