A small 'creepy-pasta' I am working on that requires major editing, I know. Here's what I have so far, the creature above is the main creepy-feature of this creepy-pasta.

Of course by the time I had set foot inside the cottage, I was hesitant. With every step, I glanced back at my parents who were happily unloading from the van that we had driven six hours to get here. A beautiful campsite with a wonderful view, they said, sure, and despite the truth behind such words it didn't feel right. Normally I would be excited and ready to explore the surrounding woods, but not this campsite. Not this time. Hearing the call of my mother, I turn away from the bathroom that I had ventured into. While I walked from the back of the cottage and to my mother, I could have sworn that there was someone else in the bathroom mirror. They were on the other side of the bedroom out of the doorway, but I am sure they were there, no matter how... distorted their features were.

My thoughts vanished when my father asked me to help him bring in the rest of the luggage, which I gladly did in a fast manner so we could hurry up and make dinner, for the sun was setting at an unusually fast rate. At least, it seemed unusually fast to me, but my parents only continued to cheerfully exchange plans for what we could do for the next few days we were to be here. They had planned a week for us to stay here, but by the way they were talking, it seemed like they had enough plans to fill our existing eternity. Their excitement was slightly deafening, with how happy they sounded it seemed like they completely forgot the countless arguments they had on the way here. Even the divorce they had planned before they had turned the corner towards the long dirt road winding up the small mountain to the forest-filled top that held the flat land containing a campsite, they had seemed to have erased from their conscious. The silence in the car as the wheels turned on the dirt road made me anxious, sitting in the backseat in a sudden need to disappear to avoid my parents' awaiting fight when we got out of the car. But no, by the time we had parked in front of the strange wooden building, they were alright. Smiling even, but I couldn't tell if this was for my own well being or so they could try and put up with each other the week's worth of money they had put into renting the beautiful scenery before us. Despite the moss clinging to the wet wood of the house, it looked in good shape and the mountain view was spectacular. They did indeed choose a good place, but by the feel and the weird placement of things, it seemed a bit off and a lot more strange then I had imagined.

But anyways, back to the present, I more or less remained quiet at the table as my parents continued to share ideas and new found delights of the scenery outside and inside the strange wooden home they called a cottage.
"How do you feel about that, Emmett?" The question caught me off guard, for I wasn't listening, so it took me a while to fix my gaze on my mother as she realized I hadn't been listening in. She frowned and gave me a soft smile, though my father only sighed.
"I'm sorry, could you repeat it again? I wasn't... Paying much attention." I mumbled the last words under my breath in anticipation, noticing my father's sudden change in mood.
"Your mother and I have decided that tomorrow we could try and take a swim in the nearby river. She was asking if that was alright with you." He strongly remarked, cobalt gaze now somewhat glaring into my skull. The sudden shift in moods had indeed frightened me, which made my one cobalt gaze focus on him in a very... very hesitant turn. He must of noticed this and only softened his gaze in turn.
"I think that'd be alright, as long as we have something to do."

As much as I'd like for my decision to have been alright, I might have just gotten myself in a wrong mix of things. That night, I couldn't sleep as I lay on my back in bed, thinking of how my parents were acting and how strange of a figure I had seen in the mirror. I couldn't dare cast my gaze into the bathroom on the other side of the room now, in fright that I'd see it again. You must be asking yourself how I'd be afraid of a simple hallucination, but I can tell you that it was there. I felt it's presence before, and I can somewhat feel it again. It's eyes are piercing into my body, I can feel it. But no matter how hard I look around, I can't catch a glimpse of it's strange figure. The window outside proves no help since I can't see past five feet of the clearing, and the forest surrounding the place was as dark as the night sky itself.

When I awoke, I didn't even know I had fallen asleep. It was still early in the morning and I could tell my parents were yet to awake, so I took it to myself to probably get ready before they did so I wouldn't have to listen to them rushing me. Though when I stood I had realized my bed had several feathers scattered across the sheets, which highly confused me since it didn't seem like any animal would have been able to get inside the house. Not that I'd know, but I wasn't about to go thinking it was that thing that I had seen the day before. Walking into the bathroom, trying to ignore the mirror of course, I turned on the faucet and washed my face off of that strange sleepiness that still lingered in my mind. When I raised my head and gazed into the mirror for a split second, I saw it. It was just a few inches away from the doorway and it seemed to be watching. It was tall and pale, and it seemed to contain a very lanky figure. I still couldn't see it clearly, for it was there for only a few seconds before I had turned around with a panicked look in my eyes.

"Morning dear. Did you sleep well? I brought you some breakfast." It was my mother. It wasn't... That, it was my mother. Sighing in relief, I tried to appear alright in every way possible, for my frightened look made her gain a worried expression.
"Yes. Yes, I slept well, thank you." I mumbled in a quick fashion, and I silently cursed at myself for not seeming more believable. She only gave me that same soft smile from the day before, setting the tray of food down upon the nightstand and then walking out in a sleep-hazed manner. Poor woman must still as tired as I was, for when I looked at the clock, I was astonished. It was five in the morning, and I wouldn't have woken up so early during a vacation. Heck, not even during school days would I have woken up this early to get get ready.

Acknowledging how early it was and how tired we all must have been, me and my parents simply sat at the table and quietly ate breakfast. My parents were the most silent they have been the entire time we were here, so I took the time to enjoy the chirping of the birds outside and how nice the room looked with the sunlight streaming through the windows. My mother must have noticed my wandering gaze and appreciative glaze in my eyes, for she laughed softly and nodded as she began to speak.
"It does indeed look nice with the sunlight streaming through, doesn't it? It seems rather perfect for us, a happy family out on vacation together..." She said rather quietly, casting a hopeful glance at my father, who only nodded as he continued to read the book he had brought along with him. As time passed, we finished our meals and moved on, getting ready to take our trip down the mountain side to the river so we could swim. My mother said it was a possibility that we'd see another family down on the riverside, but for some reason I highly doubted that. This area seemed far beyond populated, I didn't even see any homes or anything on our way up here. Though I do recalling that one settlement by the lake, I just don't... Think it has any living inhabitants. Maybe some animals or something, but nothing more then that. I started thinking of what creatures could lurk there as I swiped my bed free of the mysterious feathers and stuffed some towels in the smal
