Today was going to be a big day for Hsieyun and her friends, as they were planning to
finally go on their hike up the mountains. For the journey she had prepare water jars,
with Cocoa contributing with a collection of steamed buns. Steamed buns with a price that
in the end was still worth paying for the chance to be able to try the delectable desserts.
Their other friend, Harper, was planning to guide them up the mountain. It had been a while
since she’d climbed, and though she was nervous she at least wanted to spend some time with
her friends.

For a while,she greeted with Harper and with the jars, the cheery pink fooling cantered towards them.
Harper is happy over her with an optimistic face. "Hey Harper, you're here early!" She chirped.

Harper nodded, his tail wagging with enthusiasm. "Yeah, it would be awful for a guide like me to be late
for the lot of you.”

"Nah, you’re fine! I’m guessing Cocoa isn’t here yet?” Questioned Hsieyun.

"He said he'll be here eventually,” replied Harper. “He’s probably still making his traditional steamed buns."

"Oh yeah..." Hsieyun could hardly wait to have her mouth taste the sweet nutty walnut flavor.
"I myself brought water jars to drink from whenever we get tired.”

“Good idea Hsieyun,” smiled Harper, “We’ll need it after the hike.”

From the distance, a brown figure was bounding towards the group, carrying something in his maw.
Patiently, the group waited until the blurred shape formed into another fooling, the colours smoothing
out into their friend Cocoa. "Sorry for being late!" Panted Cocoa, as he ran over to them. The wafting
scent of the buns was becoming overpowering, more so when he placed them down beside him. “Please,
be careful the salted walnut custard buns are hot,” he chided, as Harper sniffed the closest one.

After waiting to make sure the bread has cooled enough to eat, the group dug into the delicious treat.
Noises of satisfaction filled the air. "Mmmm! They're really good!" Hsieyun shook her soft tail in joy.

"Yeah they came out great!" Harper agreed.

"Thank you! And thank you for bringing the water Hsieyun! All that running had made me thirsty.”

"You’re welcome!" Chirped Hsieyun.

The walk up the mountain only took place after every last bun had been finished, Harper making sure to
pick up the last of the crumbs. Though at first it had been overbearing, the majority of the walk was
lightened by the traditional tunes being hummed along the way. The happy air was infectious, and
after only a few breaks the three has reached the peak of the mountain. "We made it!" Said Hsieyun,
completely out of breath.

Judging by Cocoa’s eyes, he was impressed too. ”Yes, we did!"

Harper looked to be no better, but unlike the others he stayed quiet. It wasn’t like any words would
compare to the sight; the beautiful view that overlooked the valley. They promise to do this again
and relive the experience went unsaid, but it was clear every one of them definitely looked forward
to a future adventure.

Artist Note: Did this for a contest entry, I had planned to draw my friends foolings
traveling up a mountain some sort and my friends help me with the backgrounds

friend Amatelaseu help proofread it for me. I had a wonderful time drawing these
foolings and I can't wait to draw more Hsieyun and friends soon! :3
