When I was at the Oklahoma SCBWI fall conference this year, we had professional illustrator, Tim Jessell, critique a couple of our artworks and gave us an example artist that was similar to our own styles, that we could take pointers from. When he got to mine, he gave me a pretty well known cartoonist, Walt Kelly, and his comic work to look at.

So I'm using my character, Bilby, to practice in that artist's style.
