The whole situation just practically swooped by you and then turn around before hitting you up front like a Dracsah space dumpster at the ludicrous speed setting.
You had found yourself accepting your cute anthro girlfriend Thuja's proposal to you that night dance show, much to delight of everyone. Including the Galactic Alliance and the councils too... Wait what?
While the debate regarding Thuja's people about whether or not they should be allowed to be in Alliance Space due to a lot of reasons like culture shock syndromes and the like, Thuja's proposal to you came to them like a small yet bright blessing in disguise.
Maybe with the help of the upcoming wedding, maybe the petition to initiate a limited visitation rights to the anthro's homeplanet that can allow the inhabitants getting used to some of the more... eccentric aspects of the various visiting outworlders.

And a good thing too, since that way the Alliance can make sure that none of the visitors has some... Agendas in mind. Especially those who can't help to practice sex tourism around the galaxy. That is one shameful quirk that most humans just wish that they wipe that one out.
But either way, just to make things even more delightful, Thuja has been expressing her desire to be in a human wedding first, before you are to be engage in her own people's wedding ceremonies. And considering how wild her proposal was, you can't help but to wonder how the actual wedding is gonna be like.
The preparations has been going smoothly all things considering. The councils not only did allow Thuja to be the first of her kind in Galactic Space, or rather being in the atmosphere over her planet, but they also managed to recruit the super luxurious star cruiser Oasis of the Stars where you and Thuja can have your wedding in the beautiful chapel onboard.
You did figure that this was more or less a move by the councils, to see if Thuja would be able to meet other people from various culture which she has succeeded. In fact, she has been the very image of the very happily eager fish of the water.
Gushing and zipping across both the colonial space station but also the large intergalactic cruiser, meeting so many people of all races and shapes that she only has been pictures or vids of, wanting to try out all the amazing food, fit in all the clothes that she could find in every clothing store and even squealed like a freaked out teen at her first concert when she found the toy store and the electric stores with all the video games.
Despite that, no distress or any negative effect were shown on her. In fact, some of the most stoic members of the councils were very surprisingly amazed that she didn't get sick from the food she tried. Even more so when the bills started to pour in.
In any events, the wedding was the best thing you had ever experience. Just standing there at the alter, with your closest friends and family, even your best friend happily accepted to be your best man and seeing her walking up the isle. Bearing that wide smile that just melt your heart. The ceremony itself went smoothly, the vows were exchanged.
The wedding ring that belonged to your grandmother put on Thuja's finger while her ring was more of a beautifully crafted wrist bracelet that was made by the finest rocks from her homeland was tied around your wrist. Then the kiss... Dear lord of the stars, the kiss.
In short, best wedding ever. Well it had to be, because it was aired live across the known galaxy. This was even bigger than any royal weddings in many ways. Though you weren't aware of that untl much later. You would make a note to write a report of complaints about that.
The wedding party itself was just funny, lots of dance, cake sharing and even tossing of the flower bouquet which Thuja never really understood but she was happily amused to see a group of otherwise polite women acting out like Sasshroom frogs in heat.
Soon you and Thuja would enjoy your honeymoon on the cruiser for a full month. It was lovely, despite the somewhat annoying presence of civilian passengers who wanted to meet Thuja everyday, that you both were almost tempted to spend the rest of the month at your wedding penthouse.
But then again, Thuja would miss out all the glorious food and games. Oh the dilemma. Oh well, sacrifices had to be made and for her only, you would support her all the way as she would partake of all the activities and games on the cruiser.
Then as the honey moon went by a bit too quickly, the next question came up. How Thuja's people perform wedding ceremonies.
Again... If the way of how her people perform proposals, then how the ever lasting hellish starlight would a actually wedding be like?
