Companion of Flight by Thesi (critique requested)

Companion of Flight

The trees below look so far.

Gliding on the moon crescent reflected in the passing waters below,

the ever present breath of my companion the only solace to our passage.

Dancing among the glints of light left by those older than either of us we follow.

The storm ahead comes closer.

We pass through stagnant pools and flow into the clouded masses,

they obscure sight except for glimpses and dull our noise.

Together we breathe deeper in the safety of the blanket wrapped about us.

The eyes of the distant recede.

The clouds muffle a solitary bellow,

my companion seems lost but is found again with a steadily increasing roar.

Time secedes itself as her roar increases to a wail.

The trees above look so far

I lay on the earth trodden by the distant ancestral glints,

wrapped in a puddle of cooling water yet surrounded by a gentle warmth.

I can hear the faint cries of my companion above slowly die away.

The feint

The heat recedes from the pool in which I lay, the heat in the bosom of the earth below beckons.

The reassuring sigh of my companion of above is gone, her eternal presence replaced by silence.

Before we slept together, tonight we return to separate solace.
