Breaches in the Wall

So here is my shot at a full on Sivilao attack of a drek town, i tried my best and i have to say. This isn't my favorite, BUT that won't stop me from talking about sivilao attacks on drekir settlements! The drawing is a sky full of Raddir one of potentially multiple fights break out between a Sivilao attacking force and the drekir villagers, who have to put up a desperate stalling defense to help there friends and family get out of the village and evade sivilao capture.

So a sivilao army actively attacking a drek town in force does happen, it isn't an every day occurrence as it takes a lot of effort to rally a couple hundred caste dragons to attack a drek village. The most common cause is if sivilao explorers locate a village with weaker defenses, which is unfortunate for the smaller towns and villages that can't afford a big fancy wall and a small standing army.

If a caste dragon force does actually attack an easy target they are mostly trying to get the drekir villagers themselves. either kidnapping them, incapacitating them (and then kidnapping them) and, if forced, killing, they want to get as many drekir as possible out of a town assault as the more workers the merrier! This often results in ghost towns that are abandoned with buildings generally untouched (destroyed if needed, usually not looted by the sivilao). This does allow survivors of a sivilao assault to potentially return to a town and retrieve most of their belongings.

If a Caste Dragon army does attack a village that village isn't likely to repel the attack successfully or easily. it's hard enough for a village of 150-200 people to just take down a couple of Ormer let alone dozens of them and hundreds of driyalkir and a couple Mavotur. A town of ragtag villagers is not going to be able to stand up against the power of even a smaller sivilao kingdom.
As such drekir who are defending a town usually don't try to make epic stands but are more focused on holding back the sivilao and evacuating the village as best as they can. this usually results in something of a sacrifice by those who hold the line for their fellow villagers and these fights are often very desperate stalling actions. especially considering that, if a caste dragon group, can get in a proper formation its hard for drekir to do anything.

Generally speaking Sivilao tactics rely on heavy formations of driyalkir lining up in various types of shield walls with ormer supporting their flanks. This is why holding breeches in walls is very important as it forces the driyalkir out of a formation and actually fight-able. however once a shield wall forms then its pretty much a lost fight for the disorganized drekir

Since the Sivilao rarely destroy a village that they successfully attack the survivors of that attack who were able to flee can usually return. Granted it is common that there are sivilao ambush parties that will hide in the village to try and take more drekir back to their kingdom.

So as a general rule, if your village is greeted by a small sivilao army that is keen on taking you and your friends back to their kingdom. you're gonna have a long night filled with a lot of desperate fighting and stalling to try and just make it out. Also check the closets on the way back in the following morning
