Maddie gets very protective of her broken parental figures.

It’s sad I don’t think there’s anyone other than Anna Maddie’s going to get along with. She’s so quick to throw people’s attempts at kindness back in their faces because she just can’t believe that anyone actually means well. So typically the only people Maddie gets attached to are ones who stand by the fact that they’re assholes, because then you at least know what to expect.
