The Midnight Gospel's 3rd Anniversary by The Nose

The Midnight Gospel's 3rd Anniversary

The Nose

In 2020, we were locked down in the start of an ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Obviously, they were not the best of times. At the time, I had absolutely nothing to do but to do my schoolwork online, draw, nap, read, and watch my DVDs. The experience was pretty rough, in fact I got so bored that I actually started going to my brother's room to nab some of his DVDs, and one of the DVDs he had was an Adventure Time DVD. Before then, I wouldn't even bother, but then I thought I could give it another try, and before you know it, I was in love with the show. We had 2 DVDs of the show, and that, along with the one Regular Show DVD, was how I spent the rest of my school year. While I was scrolling through YouTube on my computer, I found a new trailer from Netflix that advertised their then-newest show "The Midnight Gospel". It was actually from the same creator himself Pendleton Ward, with Duncan Trussel being the co-creator. I really wanted to check it out, but at the time, there wasn't any way. However, during the summertime, I ended up getting a Roku and signed into my parents' Netflix account they had, and was finally able to witness what would be not just one of the greatest and but THE most important show in my life. The Midnight Gospel changed my views in animation forever with its absolutely gorgeous animation and incredibly heartfelt moments (the final episode was amazing). So it was sad to see that in June 2022 that the show ended up being cancelled after one season because Netflix wanted to put more focus on advertising their failed Resident Evil adaption that also ended up being canned after the first season.

However, the show may be cancelled, but it will live forever in my heart. Thank you to the incredible cast and crew that worked on this masterpiece, especially Ward, Trussell, and Titmouse.

Happy 3rd Anniversary, The Midnight Gospel!

It was certainly here when we needed it, and has helped so many including myself. At least it existed, and currently exists and will continue to be there for others for now. This is lovely btw. :3

Thank you. :) It took me an hour and 50 cents to make this, but in the end, it was very much worth it.

The midnight gospel was an absolutely amazing show, I agree that it defiently changed my view of animation too, and the final episode is still so, so sincere. I can't help but cry when I watch it. It's a really beautiful work of art, shame it was canned.

Canned for something that got the exact well-deserved fate. This show didn't deserve it.
