Positive: So yesterday, I just ended up watching Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on Prime Video and as a Sonic fan, I loved it so much. In fact, as much as I liked the first film, this is what should've been in the predecessor. Absolutely magnificent. The CGI (I'm gonna say DNEG did it considering they signed on to work on the film, and DNEG did animation for Ron's Gone Wrong) is gorgeous to look at. Not to mention, its references to the games and everything they added onto is brilliant. Loved it! Best film of 2022 so far.

Negative: I cannot fucking stand the term "superhero fatigue". It is a bullshit term created by people who don't like superhero films. And it drives me nuts whenever people say "Invincible is so much different from and more mature for people like me unlike those Marvel/DC films that are for wussies" when that's mostly untrue. That show is actually inspired a lot by those properties as if anything, it's more of a violent clone than "a breath of fresh air". Marvel did those Netflix shows (now on Disney+) that strayed far from their usual tone, and DC had a bunch of direct-to-video animated films that were very dark and violent (by no means were they good but still). In fact, people using "superhero fatigue" to praise Invincible almost ruined the entire show for me, but thankfully it didn't. I still love the show, though to be fair I prefer Vox Machina.

Also, fuck David Zaslav.
