Good Omen by thedancingemu

Good Omen

thedancingemu

5"x7" watercolor with a bit of graphite and white gel pen on Strathmore illustration board.

Inspired by old folktales that said olms washed up from subterranean cave systems were the babies of giant underground dragons. Olm dragons take hundreds of years to reach maturity, so big adults are rare, and spend most of their time sleeping underground, seeing one is a once in a lifetime event, but only for the very lucky. Real olms are also pretty impressive, they take about a decade to reach maturity, and probably live to be about 100 years old. They have very a slow metabolism and can survive up to 10 years without eating.

Original is for sale, and prints are available for pre order: http://metalkirin.storenvy.com/collections/936669-new-pieces-preorder
